Inventory Reports : Inventory Reports Overview : Inventory Replenishment Report

Inventory Replenishment Report
The inventory replenishment report can be useful for warehouse personnel responsible for transferring inventory needed for work orders from a warehouse to a truck or to another inventory location. They can run the report before the transfer to show the current inventory quantity available at a source inventory location and destination inventory location. It compares Qty Desired (the ideal replenishment amount) to the Qty Total at the destination location. The Difference indicates how much inventory must be transferred from the source inventory location to the destination location to reach the desired replenishment amount. The Qty Desired value comes from the Desired Available Qty field in the inventory data record. You should review this field for each item at the destination location to ensure that this report is useful. The barcode on the report enables you to use a barcode scanner to identify the destination location. For more information on using the barcode scanner for this report, see “Scanning Inventory for Replenishment”
The following fields and columns for the Inventory Replenishment report require explanation:
You can sort the report by: Difference, Item Type, Item Type Kit, or Aisle/Bin.
Select Yes to hide items that show no difference. Select No to include them in the report.
The quantity at the source location. This value does not include Pending Completions. You can click the links in this column to drill down to the inventory data record.
The quantity at the destination location. You can click the links in this column to drill down to the inventory data record. It does not include Pending Completions. This value will not change depending upon the Exclude Qty Pending Completion option. For more information on this option, see “Inventory Control Setup”.
The Qty Pending is the outgoing quantity on non-completed distributions. When the distributions are completed, then the qty pending decreases. This value is already deducted from the Qty Available and is therefore not used in the calculation to determine the difference which is the amount of the items to transfer. It is included in the report only to show the number of items on open work orders. This value is not dependent on the Exclude Qty Pending Completion option.
This value shows the Qty Available plus Qty On Order plus Quantity Incoming. The Qty Pending column is not included in the calculation of Qty Total.
The ideal replenishment quantity. The value comes from the Desired Available Qty field in the inventory data record.

Scanning Inventory for Replenishment
When it is time to replenish inventory on trucks and at satellite inventory locations you can print out the Inventory Replenishment report for all your destination locations. The person or persons responsible for transferring items from the source location can scan the barcode on a report to identify the destination location. They can then go to the aisle/bin locations shown on the report to scan the items as they collect them for the transfer. They repeat the process for each destination location. They can place the report in each bin of collected items to use as a verification document as the items are transferred from the source location to the destination locations.
